Blakely Baptist Church, one of the oldest congregations in Lackawanna County, is proud to announce the kickoff of a new community-focused service series with a Canned Food Drive to support local families and food pantries in need.
The event will take place on Sunday, July 20, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM at:

Community members are invited to donate non-perishable food items, which will be distributed to nearby shelters, pantries, residents facing food insecurity, and support our Community Dinner Initiative. This drive marks the first in a planned series of outreach efforts by the church, emphasizing its long-standing commitment to service. Future events will include wellness workshops, resource fairs, and interfaith gathering. Our unwavering mission is to preserve the church’s legacy and tend to the needs of our community, family, friends, and neighbors.
Donations can be dropped off during event hours or coordinated by appointment. Monetary donations are also welcome to support distribution, logistics, and future events.
