The Abington Heights Civic League had a guest speaker at a recent meeting. Jessica Freyne, CEO of the Providence Pregnancy Center in North Scranton, spoke about the free services they are providing to homeless pregnant women. They are able to help with counselling, baby items and clothing through fundraising, donations and grants. Last year they helped over 200 women. They are expanding and will soon be able to offer limited temporary housing.
