Spring concerts: Catholic Choral Society of Scranton annual spring concerts celebrating the 76th year of the choral group will be presented May 16 at 7 p.m. at Mary, Mother of God Parish at Holy Rosary Church, 316 William St., Scranton, and May 18 at 7 p.m. at the Church of St. Ignatius Loyola at 339 N. Maple Ave., Kingston. On May 16, the Choral Society will host the Mary, Mother of God Adult Choir directed by Kimberly Gnall. On May 18, the Choral Society will host the Good Shepherd Academy of Kingston Middle School Choir under the direction of Thomas Hanlon. Tickets are $12/adults, $8/seniors and students, and free/12 and under.

Ukrainian folk festival: Ukrainian Folk Festival 2025, Aug. 24, noon-8 p.m., Ukrainian American Sport Center — Tryzub, County Line and Lower State roads, Horsham, Ukrainian folk art, music and dance celebrating the 34th anniversary of independence. Outdoor stage concert and show, 1:30-4:30 p.m., live orchestra music, 5-8 p.m., traditional Ukrainian foods and baked goods, BBQ pit, standard picnic fare, vendors’ grove, Ukrainian arts and crafts displays and bazaar, cool refreshments, live reenactments from living Ukrainian history exhibitors and Ukrainian hospitality. Mother’s Day tea party: The Catherine McAuley Center will host a Mother’s Day tea party to celebrate mothers and other women in our lives May 3 from noon-2 p.m. at 541 Wyoming Ave. (formerly known as the Space at Olive) in Scranton. Refreshments, finger sandwiches and dessert will be served. Tickets are $25 and include one adult and up to four children, 18 years old and younger. In addition to the tea party fare, there will be children’s activities, a photographer taking family photos, door prizes and raffles, and a character meet and greet. The center’s mobile Little Library and Period Project will be set up. Sponsorship, donation and volunteer opportunities are available. Family Arts Festival: United Neighborhood Centers of Northeastern Pennsylvania, in collaboration with John Adams Elementary School, hosting the fourth annual Pine Brook Family Arts Festival, Saturday, noon to 4 p.m., on the school playground. Held rain or shine, with activities set up outdoors under tents and indoors in the school’s gym. Includes live entertainment, along with interactive art and educational activities. Themed activities will explore topics like bumblebees, the five senses and weather, and will include hands-on crafts such as rock painting, yarn crafts and magnet making. Free pizza and ice cream, available while supplies last. In addition, El Buen Amigo will be on site offering authentic Mexican food for purchase.
