Electric City Steel Drum Project receives grant

Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on

The Electric City Steel Drum Project was awarded a $3,000 grant from the Robert H. Spitz Foundation, administered by the Scranton Area Community Foundation. The purpose of the grant is to provide local veterans and their families an opportunity to participate in classes in which they learn to play steel drums. The Steel of Honor Program for veterans consists of small group instruction during which veterans of all ages with diverse abilities and backgrounds work together to learn and perform quality music. The program provides an opportunity for social interaction with other veterans who may be facing common issues or simply sharing common experiences.
