Electric vehicle owners have a new place to recharge in Dickson City.

Executives from Sheetz and IONNA — an EV charging network company — unveiled a new EV charging station Wednesday with a ribbon cutting at the Dickson City Sheetz, 610 Scranton Carbondale Highway. The charging station is a continuation of a partnership between Sheetz and IONNA, with the companies announcing last year that IONNA will install 50 EV charging stations at Sheetz locations across the company’s entire footprint by the end of 2026, according to Sheetz.

“This ‘Rechargery’ highlights IONNA’s efforts to provide reliable, high-powered fast charging to the EV community as well as Sheetz’s commitment to supporting comprehensive fueling options for drivers and providing them with convenient, accessible charging options,” Sheetz said in a news release announcing the unveiling.

IONNA is a joint venture founded by automakers BMW, General Motors, Honda, Hyundai, Kia, Mercedes-Benz, Stellantis and Toyota with the goal of building a leading nationwide EV charging network, according to IONNA’s website. The company moved from a public beta to a full-scale national release in February, according to a Feb. 4 news release announcing the change. IONNA said in the release it plans to deploy more than 1,000 live charging bays across the country by the end of 2025.
