The National Weather Service has issued a flood watch for northeast Pennsylvania, including Lackawanna, Luzerne and Schuylkill counties.
Slow moving front with heavy showers and thunderstorms along and south of the front Thursday afternoon and evening could result in isolated to scattered flash flooding. Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations, according to the NWS.
The watch is effect Thursday afternoon through late Thursday night for the region.
Much cooler temperatures and lower humidity will follow the front. Friday’s high is 73 degrees.
