JEFFERSON TWP. — A section of the Hamlin Highway — between Wimmers Road (Jefferson Twp.) and Reservoir Road (Madison Twp.) — is closed again due to roadway flooding, Jefferson Twp. Assistant Fire Chief Jason Crambo said.
Crambo noted a vehicle became disabled in the flooded roadway in the area of Line Road on Sunday morning, but no injuries were reported.
State Department of Transportation officials were dispatched to the scene, he said.
“There is an underlying pipe issue there, but I’m not really sure why it flooded today because we haven’t had rain in a couple days,” Crambo said. “It’s been flooding multiple times recently … every couple months we’ve had an issue, mainly with heavy rain.”
Road-closure signs will be posted and drivers should find another travel route, fire officials said. The road will remain closed until the water recedes, Crambo said.
