A Hanover Twp. man accused of stalking U.S. Rep. Rob Bresnahan and his girlfriend, former WNEP-TV reporter Chelsea Strub, has pleaded no contest to stalking charges.
John P. Arnone Jr., 64, was charged with sending a series of disturbing emails that made Strub feel unsafe. Investigators said the first email Arnone sent had the “characteristics of a manifesto,” and was directed at Bresnahan, R-8, Dallas Twp.
During a dispositional hearing on Thursday, Arnone pleaded no contest to one felony and one misdemeanor count of stalking.
Luzerne County Judge David W. Lupas accepted the plea and set sentencing for 10:30 a.m. Aug. 18.
Arnone remains in custody with bail set at $50,000 pending sentencing.
