Tourists from the Scranton/Wilkes Barre region took a photo in St. Peter’s Square, Rome, Wednesday, before the crowds poured in. The 48 people happen to be in Rome as the selection of a new Pope begins, on a tour of Italy that was planned for months. “They are very excited,” said TravelWorld sales manager John Madden. “Very busy in Rome, from what I am hearing.” The group includes many Roman Catholics.  A prearranged tour of the Vatican will go on, with the exception of the Sistine Chapel. That’s where the conclave is held. They fly home Friday.
