COVINGTON TWP. — North Pocono High School parents and students say not being able to carry backpacks will be tough, while district officials say the new rule will keep students safe and healthy.High school administrators announced July 25 students won’t carry backpacks during the school day. The first day of school for students is Aug. 21.Students will keep backpacks and personal items in their lockers, which they will visit before their first period, before and after lunch, and at dismissal, high school officials wrote in an online message.
