Flag Day ceremony: Abington Memorial VFW Post 7069, Clarks Summit, will conduct a Flag Day ceremony June 14 at 11 a.m. at the Veterans Park monument on South State Street, Clarks Summit. The public is invited.

East Scranton

Bus trip: East Scranton Seniors Casino Bus Trip bus trip to Tioga Downs, July 16, leaves Scranton at 9 a.m. and departs casino at 4:30 p.m. Trip is $44. Contact Tom at 570-909-4266 for reservations. Photo ID required. Payment due by July 3.

Lackawanna County

Summer walking tours: Lackawanna Historical Society free guided tours provide local residents and visitors with a chance to learn more about downtown Scranton’s architecture, and learn more about buildings and neighborhoods you pass every day. Tours are scheduled for Friday evening and Saturday morning. Each tour focuses on a different thematic region of the city. Tours will spotlight the Gothic District and former “Clubhouse Row,” the Lackawanna Avenue Commercial district, the lower portion of the Hill Section, as well as Courthouse Square. The full tour schedule is: June 21, 11 a.m.: Gothic District, meet at Lackawanna College, North Washington and Vine; June 27, 6 p.m., Commercial and “Red Light” District, meet at Radisson Lackawanna Station; July 12, 11 a.m., Lower Hill Section, meet at Elm Park Church, Linden and Jefferson; July 25, 6 p.m., Gothic District, meet at Vine and North Washington; Aug. 9, 11 a.m., Courthouse Square, meet at North Washington and Linden; Aug. 23, 11 a.m., Commercial and “Red Light” District, meet at Radisson Lackawanna Station; and Sept. 6, 11 a.m., Lower Hill Section, meet at Elm Park Church.
