Clarks Summit

Bus trip: Clarks Summit Fire Company J.W. Hall Auxiliary trip to Shawnee Playhouse (Shawnee on Delaware), Aug. 1, leaves Clarks Summit at 10:30 a.m., $100 (includes bus, salad, bread, buffet, coffee, tea, live show “Grease,” taxes and gratuities). Elmhurst Twp.

Club luncheon: Women of Elmhurst Country Club Let’s Play Luncheon, May 30, 319 Gardner Road, Moscow. Reservations are a must and are limited to the first 80. The doors open at 11:15 a.m., lunch is served promptly at noon, and is followed by an afternoon of bridge, pinochle, mahjongg or the game of your choice. The cost of the luncheon is $30 cash or check per person, to be paid at the door. Bar beverages are available with credit card or club charge. Call Diane Jones-Hannon, 570-878-3374, to make your group’s reservation or cancellation before May 23. No late reservations will be accepted.

Moscow

Spring luncheon: Moscow Women’s Club spring luncheon, May 6, noon, Mendicino’s Restaurant, Daleville. This will be a sit-down luncheon and singalong. Attendees who care to make a monetary donation to the North Pocono Scholarship Fund will be appreciated. This will be the last get-together until September. Rummage sale: Maple Lake United Methodist Church, 632 State Route 690, Spring Brook Twp., rummage sale, May 3, with bake sale and light lunch, and dollar-a-bag Monday, May 5.

Regional

Benefit auction: Johnson College’s Carpentry & Cabinetmaking Technology program auction to benefit the Children’s Advocacy Center of NEPA, April 30, inside the carpentry and cabinetmaking technology lab in Woolworth Hall on the Scranton campus. Doors open 5 p.m., auction starts at 6. More than 70 items will be available to bid on, including cutting boards, chess boards, tables, benches and custom woodworking. All items were created by students in the carpentry and cabinetmaking technology program. Many of the items were made from repurposed material. Register at https://johnson.edu/carpentry-auction/.

Earth Day festival: Pocono Environmental Education Center’s Earth Day Festival, Saturday, 11 a.m.-4 p.m., 538 Emery Road, Dingmans Ferry, variety of vendors showcasing eco-friendly products and services, as well as live music, educational displays and hands-on activities for all ages. Admission, $5/car.
