Chili challenge: Annual Chili Challenge, Sunday, noon-2 p.m., Daleville United Methodist Church, 423 Dorantown Road, $7/ticket and free/under 4, menu consists of chili tasting, hot dogs with trimmings, chips, pickles, cookies and a drink.

North Scranton

Neighborhood meeting: North Scranton Neighborhood Association meeting, May 7, 6 p.m., Weston Park. Pat Tobin, director of the Lackawanna County assessment office, will be present to answer questions regarding the new property assessments. All meetings are at 6 p.m. at Weston Park, 100 Spring St., Scranton (not Weston Field). The remaining meeting dates for 2025 are the first Wednesday of the month: June 4, July 2, Aug. 6, Sept. 3 and Oct. 1.

Bus trip: Lackawanna & Wyoming Valley Railway Historical Society Inc. is running a bus trip from Taylor to Corinth, N.Y., to ride “The D&H Again on the Adirondack Limited” train excursion. For information and tickets, visit www.LWVRHS.org.

Farmers/flea market bus trip: AARP NEPA/Scranton Chapter 3731 bus trip to Green Dragon Farmers and Flea Market, Lancaster, June 13. Green Dragon is a 60-acre market in the heart of Amish country with over 100 vendors, housed in seven large indoor buildings and many more outdoors. Trip is open to the public. Included is a Shady Maples Pa. Dutch smorgasbord. Board bus on Viewmont Drive (Staples) at 8 a.m. and arrive back in Scranton at 7 p.m., $99 payment due with reservation.
