A billboard company with an office in the Lehigh Valley has acquired Times-Shamrock Outdoor.

Adams Outdoor Advertising acquired the billboard division of Times-Shamrock Communications, the company announced in a news release Friday. The sale included 24 static bulletin billboards and 25 digital bulletin billboards. A sale price wasn’t disclosed.

Company officials said the new inventory expands Adams’ reach throughout Lackawanna and Luzerne counties, including key markets such as Scranton, Wilkes-Barre, Hazleton and surrounding communities. The company’s eastern Pennsylvania office is in Bethlehem.

“By expanding our inventory in Lackawanna and Luzerne Counties, we’re creating more opportunities for brands to connect with their audiences,” Rob Shilling, general manager of Adams Outdoor Advertising Eastern PA, said in a news release.

Max Drachman of Drachman M&A Co. brokered the transaction.

Times-Shamrock Communications, based in Scranton, previously owned The Times-Tribune and its sister publications, The Citizens’ Voice in Wilkes-Barre, the Standard-Speaker in Hazleton and the Republican Herald in Pottsville. The company sold the papers to publishing giant MediaNews Group in August 2023. It continues to run seven radio stations in Scranton, Baltimore and Milwaukee.
