Memorial Day parade: VFW Abington Memorial Post 7069, in conjunction with Clarks Summit borough, Memorial Day parade, May 26, 11 a.m. Individuals or groups who want to be in the line of march must register by calling the post after 3 p.m. daily, at 570-586-9821. The parade will form at the Grove Street Elementary Center starting at 10, proceed to South Street and to Winola Road, ending at the post home.

Railroad meeting: Lackawanna & Wyoming Valley Chapter of the National Railroad Historical Society meeting, Thursday, 7 p.m., rear meeting room at the Iron Skillet Restaurant of the Petro Truck Stop, 98 Grove St., Dupont, program: “The Kid from Freeville” presented by Dan Armitage and Peter Bellisario.
Federation meeting: Northeastern Pennsylvania Volunteer Firemen’s Federation meeting, Thursday, 7:30 p.m., as guests of the Clifford Twp. Volunteer Fire Company, state Route 106, Clifford Twp.
Retirement celebration: NEPA Youth Shelter community celebration and fundraiser in honor of its retiring founder and executive director Maureen Maher-Gray, Wednesday, 6-9 p.m., St. Stanislaus Youth Center, 530 E. Elm St., Scranton, featuring a casual, friendly atmosphere, signature mocktails and a buffet dinner. Tickets are $30 at the door. All proceeds will benefit NEPA Youth Shelter. Attendees are also asked to bring a non-perishable food item (no canned goods, please) or personal care product for the shelter’s After School Drop In Teen Center.
Theater performances: Act Out Theatre Group presenting Rodgers & Hammerstein’s “Oklahoma!” May 9-18, 802 S. Main St., Suite 804D, Taylor. Showtimes are 7:30 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays and 3 p.m. on Sundays. Tickets for “Oklahoma!” can be purchased at the door or online at www.actouttheatre.com. Adult tickets are $15 and student and senior tickets are $10.
