Archbald

Memorial Day parade: Archbald Borough annual Memorial Day Parade, May 26. Begins at Hricak-McAndrew Post 869, 161 S. Main St., Eynon. It will depart for St. Luke’s Cemetery and then move on to VFW Post 7963, 284 Main St., Eynon. It will conclude at St. Francis Cemetery and then participants will board buses to Hricak-McAndrew Post 869 for a memorial ceremony. They will then proceed to Archbald High School Memorial Plaza Park for a ceremony. Any individual, sports teams, or groups who would like to participate in the parade, notify the borough office at 570-876-1800, x101, by May 21.

Madisonville

Breakfast buffet: Madisonville Fire Company breakfast buffet, Sunday, 8 a.m.-noon, fire hall, 3131 Madisonville Road, includes pancakes, French toast, eggs, bacon, sausage, home fries, homemade sausage gravy and biscuits, strawberry rhubarb preserves and beverages.

Lackawanna County

Bus trip: AARP NEPA/Scranton Chapter 3731 bus trip to Green Dragon Farmers/Flea Market, Lancaster, June 13. A shopper’s paradise with over 100 vendors sitting on 60 acres in the heart of Amish Country. Vendors are both outdoors and indoors in seven large buildings. Voted best flea market on the East Coast. Trip is open to the public. Included in the price of $99 is a delicious Shady Maples Dutch Smorgasbord. Throop

Memorial Day services: Herbert Clark Post 180 Throop American Legion and Throop VFW Post 7251 Memorial Day services, May 26, with members meeting at the Throop Civic Center parking lot at 8 a.m. and proceed to the local cemeteries for services starting with the St. Mary’s Cemetery off Sanderson Avenue at 8:15. Members will then proceed to the Veterans’ Plaque at the Throop Municipal Building for services there at 10. All members will then proceed to the VFW Post 7251 for services at 11.

Wayne County

Wellness event: Wayne Memorial Community Health Centers inaugural wellness event, Unity in the Community, Friday, 4-7 p.m., Honesdale Central Park. The free interactive event will feature food, 19 vendor tables with tips for maintaining a healthy lifestyle, family fun activities including a bounce house, live music and raffles with a grand prize of an overnight stay at Kalahari Resorts.
