Attorney Peter J. Moses has been appointed to Allied Services Integrated Health System’s board of directors, effective May. The appointment was approved by the board in recognition of Moses’ dedication to public service and his deep ties to the Northeast Pennsylvania community.

This appointment holds particular personal meaning for Moses, whose late father, John Peter Moses, had a long-standing connection to Allied Services and received compassionate care from the organization before his passing. Domestic Violence Service Center

The nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting victims of domestic violence and their children announced the appointment of Danielle Keith-Alexandre as its new executive director, effective April 16. She will lead the organization in its mission toward a violence-free tomorrow.

Keith-Alexandre joins with a remarkable background in human services and nonprofit leadership, the organization said. Most recently, she was the CEO and executive director of Keystone Mission in Scranton. Prior experience includes roles with Family Connections of Easton, Resurrected Community Development Corporation and Family Services Network of New York. She holds a Master of Science in human and social services from Walden University, and a Bachelor of Arts in criminal justice from John Jay College of Criminal Justice.

Keith-Alexandre’s experience in community engagement, grants and fundraising, and board interaction will significantly contribute to the continued success of DVSC, the nonprofit said.

Dyller & Solomon LLC

On May 9, the Pennsylvania Bar Association honored attorney Barry Dyller of the law firm with its 2025 Civil & Equal Rights Champion Award. The award recognized Dyller’s significant contribution to the advancement of civil and equal rights for Pennsylvanians. The award also recognized Dyller’s impact through constitutional advocacy and representation of multiple clients in civil rights matters including, for example, the Kids for Cash case, the case in which Hazleton’s immigration ordinances were declared to be unconstitutional, and a recent trial against Bloomsburg University and the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education, and many other cases. The award also recognized Dyller’s role in the development of case law in the area of civil and equal rights.

Nick D’Alberto has been appointed the new branch manager of the Moscow office.

As branch manager, D’Alberto will be responsible for developing and cultivating new business growth opportunities, representing HNB in a new market area delivering the “HNB & Me” experience for customers in the Moscow area.

He is a graduate of Berwick Area Senior High and has received a B.S. in education from Bloomsburg University of PA, and an A.I.B. Banking Certificate from the American Institute of Banking.

D’Alberto currently resides in Moosic, and has worked in the financial industry for over 40 years. Over the decades, he has gained invaluable experience and knowledge, making him a respected leader and mentor to his colleagues. D’Alberto has been with HNB for over 11 years, further solidifying his commitment and dedication to the bank.

Jamie Stracham has been promoted to branch manager of the Hamlin office.

As branch manager, Stracham will be responsible for supervising and developing staff, driving business growth within the branch, overseeing daily branch operations and maintaining customer service standards.

Stracham started her career in the banking industry in 2017. At the bank, she quickly grew in her role, starting as a teller at the Montdale office and within six months, earning her CSR title. In 2022, she was promoted to head teller at the Eynon office and, in 2024, she advanced to the position of assistant branch manager at the same location. She also holds a notary license.

Judith Flaherty has been promoted to vice president, loan closing manager.

As vice president, loan closing manager, Flaherty is responsible for overseeing the closing department to assist with and help ensure loans close in a timely manner. Additionally, Flaherty will assist the residential mortgage manager as needed.

She is a graduate of G.A.R. Memorial Junior/Senior High School and holds a Bachelor of Arts in political science with a minor in accounting from King’s College. She also received her Juris Doctor from Capital University in Columbus, Ohio. Currently licensed in Pennsylvania, she serves as a notary public.

She has worked in the financial industry for over 22 years. Early in her career she developed an interest in real estate, which eventually led her to an opportunity to work in the title insurance industry for over 10 years. During that time, she obtained her notary license and was a licensed title insurance agent. During her tenure at the bank, she has grown from loan closing coordinator to loan closing manager specializing in secondary marketing, to her current role.

Christopher Cook has been promoted to vice president, senior commercial loan officer.

In his new position, Cook will supervise and assist commercial loan officers, ensuring they are fully engaged and encouraged to succeed in their positions. He will provide training and guidance on complex credit analysis and loan processing, ensuring adherence to the bank’s loan policy, credit analysis, documentation, loan review and collections. Additionally, he will assist with and guide all commercial loan officer duties.

He is a graduate of Sacred Heart High School and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in finance from Pennsylvania State University.

Cook has been in the financial industry for 25 years. He previously held the position of consumer loan officer at the bank from 2008 to 2012, when he gained valuable experience in loan processing and customer service.

Ryan Wilson, executive vice president/wealth management, financial adviser has been named to the Forbes 2025 Best-in-State Wealth Advisors list for the third consecutive year.

The list was developed by SHOOK Research and is based on in-person, virtual and telephone due diligence meetings to measure best practices, client retention, industry experience, credentials, review of compliance records, firm nominations and quantitative criteria.

As executive vice president/wealth management of the Wilson Wealth Advisory Group, Wilson leads a six-person team based in Moosic.

Wilson has been a financial advisr for 25 years, and has spent the last 16 years at the company. He is a Certified Public Accountant, a Certified Financial Planner professional, and holds the Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor, Accredited Wealth Management Advisor and Accredited Investment Fiduciarydesignations.

He is graduate of Lehigh University and has previously been named to the “20 under 40” list by the Northeast Pennsylvania Business Journal.

Gavin Kerrigan has been promoted to president and chief operating officer.

Kerrigan started out with the company as a truck driver learning how daily operations work and then worked his way up to middle management. At a recent shareholder meeting, Kerrigan was a unanimous vote for president and chief operating officer.

He is deeply devoted to the addiction and homeless cause that the company wholeheartedly supports, officials said.

PennDOT

Jonathan A. Eboli, P.E., has been appointed chief executive for highway administration, effective March 1.

Eboli began his career in PennDOT’s Engineering District 4-0 in 2010 as a civil engineer trainee. He progressed in various positions and managed multiple assignments of increased responsibility and complexity within the design, construction and maintenance divisions.

These positions included civil engineer for bridges, senior civil engineer supervisor, assistant construction engineer and acting senior civil engineer manager. Eboli previously served as the acting district executive in District 6-0, and, most recently, as acting chief executive in Central Office.

He has been serving as District 4-0’s assistant district executive for maintenance since 2020.

He earned dual Bachelor of Science degrees in civil engineering and architectural engineering from Drexel University.

PKD-Free Alliance

The nonprofit dedicated to generational health and a PKD-free future announced that Kevin Schnurr, a University of Scranton alumni, is the organization’s first chief implementation and operations officer. Reporting directly to founder Richard Kellner, he will play a vital leadership role and support the growth and mission of the organization.

The alliance provides needed support and grant funding to families seeking to use IVF and PGT-M to achieve their dream of having a PKD-free child.

Schnurr joins the alliance with over a decade of nonprofit leadership, patient engagement and rare disease advocacy experience. His connection to kidney disease began in 2012 when, at 26, he faced renal failure due to Alport syndrome. After two years of dialysis treatment, Schnurr received a living donor kidney transplant.

At the Alport Syndrome Foundation, Schnurr held roles from patient outreach coordinator to managing director. There, he launched patient-centered programs and advocacy initiatives, building and expanding relationships with medical professionals, industry partners, and organizations like the National Kidney Foundation and the American Kidney Fund.

A time-honored teaching award at the university was recently presented to Christine Zakzewski, Ph.D., associate professor of physics and engineering.

Student members of the university’s chapter of Alpha Sigma Nu, the national honor society for students in Jesuit colleges and universities, selected Zakzewski as its Teacher of the Year. Formally known as the Gannon Award for Teaching, the award is named for Edward Gannon, S.J., a 22-year employee of the university who taught philosophy until his death in 1986.

A graduate of Rutgers University, where she earned bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees, Zakzewski has been a member of the university’s Department of Physics and Engineering since 1992. She was department chair from 2007 to 2017 and the engineering program director from 2017 to 2024, helping to develop the department’s mechanical engineering program while securing external ABET accreditation for its electrical, computer and mechanical engineering programs.

Douglas M. Boyle, D.B.A., professor and chair of the Accounting Department and director of the university’s Ph.D. program, and Daniel P. Haggerty, Ph.D., professor and chair of the Philosophy Department and director of the university’s Special Jesuit Liberal Arts Honors Program, recently co-authored a paper on philosophy and professional ethics that earned the prestigious 2025 Curt Verschoor Ethics Feature of the Year. Selected by the Institute of Management Accountants’ Committee on Ethics and Strategic Finance, the article, “Aristotle and Accounting: Building Virtue to Fight Fraud,” was written by Drs. Boyle, Haggerty and the third author, Dana R. Hermanson, Ph.D., of Kennesaw State University.

This is the third time Boyle has won this prestigious national award, which annually recognizes one article “that focuses on the importance of ethics in business as a whole and finance and accounting in particular.” Boyle also won this coveted prize in 2020 and 2024.

Haggerty has published numerous peer-reviewed articles, papers and book reviews. His research includes studies of classical theorists as well as contemporary thinkers in both the analytic and continental traditions. His publications in moral psychology, ethics and epistemology deal with such topics as emotions, affectivity, justification, virtue and reasons for acting. He has also received several grants to foster undergraduate research and publication in philosophy.

An award-winning teacher, Haggerty was named Teacher of the Year by the University of Scranton’s class of 2018. Haggerty received the university’s 2011 Alpha Sigma Nu Teacher of the Year Award and the Excellence in Adapting Classic Principles of Jesuit Pedagogy into the Curriculum: The Magis Award in 2016.

Haggerty joined the faculty at Scranton in 2005 and has served as the director of the university’s Special Jesuit Liberal Arts Honors Program since 2010. He earned his bachelor’s degree in philosophy from St. Joseph’s University and his doctorate in philosophy from Syracuse University.

Boyle is a certified public accountant and a certified management accountant with more than 30 years of industry executive experience. He has served in executive roles in startup, middle market and Fortune 500 companies, where he has held the positions of board chair, chief executive officer, president, chief operations officer and chief financial officer. An award-winning teacher and prolific researcher, Boyle ranked No. 2 in the world for accounting education publication volume in the past six years, according to the 2024 Brigham Young University Accounting Rankings. He is the founder and director of the university’s Nonprofit Leadership Certificate Program and recently worked with a team of alumni, colleagues and family members to open the West Scranton Youth Center, which provides free athletic and art programs for area children and teens.

Boyle earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Scranton, an MBA from Columbia University and a doctorate from Kennesaw State University.

Waverly Community House

The board of trustees announced the appointment of Gia Tugend as interim executive director, following the departure of Michelle Hamilton. Hamilton, who was appointed executive director in June 2023, has concluded her tenure with the organization.

Tugend brings extensive experience and deep institutional knowledge to the role, having served the organization since 2012 in a variety of capacities. Most recently, she held the position of director of institutional advancement and digital social media.

The board will soon establish a search committee to identify and appoint a permanent executive director. In the meantime, Tugend will ensure continued momentum and a smooth transition.
