Carbondale police are searching for a man accused of robbing First National Bank on Dundaff Street at about 2:30 p.m. Monday.

The man walked into the bank, handed the teller a note that read “bomb” and asked for money, according to Police Chief Brian Bognatz.

The teller handed over an undisclosed amount of money, Bognatz said.

The man, described as a white, about 6 feet tall and 30-40 years old, left the bank and walked toward the river.

Police saw him on surveillance footage and made still images from that footage available to the public.

They are asking that anyone with information call county dispatchers at 911.

Bognatz said no one was hurt and there were no weapons involved in the robbery.
