Chicken barbecue: Prince of Peace Parish takeout-only chicken barbecue, basket raffle and 50/50 drawing, Aug. 10, 11 a.m.-3 p.m., Arcaro and Genell parking lot, Main Street, $15, includes half of a barbecued chicken, corn, pasta salad, roll and dessert; tickets: call the rectory, 570-457-5900. National night out: Olyphant Borough Police Department and Neighborhood Watch 2025 National Night Out, Aug. 23, 6-9 p.m., Condella Park, 900 Susquehanna Ave., police exhibits, hamburgers and hot dogs, music by DJ Gordo, fireworks at dusk and parade starting at 5:30 (route is 100 block of River Street to Lackawanna Avenue to Delaware Avenue to North Valley Avenue to rear entrance of Condella Park).
