SCOTT TWP. — The owners of a new ice cream shop hope to complement their existing restaurant menu and help fill a void in the community.
Jennifer and Jimmy Romano, who operate the Mayli Manor, 382 Commerce Drive, opened Mooli’s at the same location Thursday.
Mooli’s — open Monday through Friday from 3 to 9 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from noon to 9 p.m. — offers 24 flavors of soft-serve ice cream and also serves shakes, sundaes, flurries and cakes. The Mayli Manor restaurant and bar is open Thursday through Saturday from 3 to 11 p.m.
The Romanos felt the closure of Montdale Dairy in 2023 and Mayli’s close proximity to several baseball fields made it an ideal spot to serve ice cream.
“We thought we’d offer soft serve because there is nothing in the area,” Jimmy Romano said. “They’re enjoying trying the different flavors, and the bar and restaurant is attached to it, so we’re trying to bring back the smashburger, fries and milkshake theme.”
