ShopRite supermarkets in Lackawanna and Monroe counties, owned and operated by the Bracey family, collectively raised over $33,000 for the annual ShopRite Partners In Caring Cheerios Contest, sponsored in partnership with General Mills. The funds — collected during Hunger Action Month in September — will go to local food banks and organizations fighting hunger in the community. Each of the Bracey ShopRite locations unveiled Wednesday a special edition Cheerios box featuring ShopRite team members from the top fundraising stores and made a donation to local organizations, including North Pocono Dry Goods Pantry, Feed Families Ministry and CEO/Weinberg Northeast Regional Food Bank.
