Forest City

Historical society meeting: Forest City Area Historical Society meeting, Sunday, 6 p.m., society’s headquarters, Dundaff and Main streets. Lackawanna County

Trolley rides with Easter Bunny: Hop on the trolley with the Easter Bunny on all excursions Saturday and Sunday at the Electric City Trolley Museum, 300 Cliff St., Scranton. Saturday departures are 10:30 and 11:30 a.m., and 12:45, 2 and 3 p.m. Sunday departures are 9:30, 10:30 and 11:30 a.m., and 12:45 and 1:30 p.m. Balloon art and face painting both days from 10:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m., arts and crafts. Reservations are required. There is still room available on all rides. Call 570-963-6590 to reserve and assure your seats.

Cleanup events: Valley Community Library’s Earth Month community cleanup events throughout April and early May. The library is partnering with the Lackawanna County Environmental Office, the NEPA Sierra Club and other organizations to bring the community together as we clean up Lackawanna County. Each of these events includes an in-depth look at what we are finding with a litter study with Fawn Contreras. Cleanup dates: Sunday, 10 a.m., Main Street in Archbald. This event is in partnership with Queer NEPA and is open to adults and teens ages 13 and older; Wednesday, 5:30 p.m., along Route 247 at the Jessup Park-n-Ride, for adults only; April 21, 5:30 p.m., Valley Community Library, when the library will hold a story time and litter study that is family friendly and open to all ages; April 22, 9 a.m., Commerce Boulevard. Celebrate Earth Day with us as we partner with Dickson City, which is celebrating its 150th anniversary. Lunch will be provided to volunteers who register in advance; this event is for adults only. May 2 at 6 p.m. at the Viewmont Mall, an event in partnership with the mall and open to adults, teens and children ages 10 and older who are accompanied by an adult. Registration is required for each of these events online at sierraclub.org/Pennsylvania/upcoming-outings. All gloves, vests and trash bags are provided by Keep NEPA Beautiful and PennDOT.

Scranton

Movie presentation: The GAR Memorial Association and the Sons of the Union Veterans Ezra Griffin Post 8 will air the Academy Award-winning movie “Lincoln” on Tuesday at 6 p.m. at the Arthaus, Lackawanna Avenue. There is no admission charge but a voluntary donation of any amount is requested to raise funds to bring back the Civil War-era sword of the late Lt. Ezra Griffin, a North Scranton native who fought in the Civil War and died of wounds received in the siege of Petersburg in 1864. Donations may also be dropped off at the GAR Museum, second floor of the Marketplace at Steamtown near Crunch.
