Ennis Inc. acquired Old Forge-based Northeastern Envelope Co., Ennis officials announced in a news release.
Founded in 1966, Northeastern Envelope is a leading manufacturer of a wide of variety of envelopes, Ennis officials said.
Northeastern Envelope Company sold 5.7 acres of land on Maxson Drive to Texas-based CRABAR/GBF Inc. for $3.6 million, according to a deed recorded in Lackawanna County.
“Northeastern Envelope and the Burke family are well known and respected throughout the envelope manufacturing industry,” Keith Walters, chairman, president and CEO of Ennis Inc. said in the news release. “The addition of Northeastern to our existing facilities – Wisco Envelopes and National Imprint – strengthens Ennis’ envelope converting and printing in this strategic part of the country where we service many customers.”
