Easter Egg Hunt For Literacy

Join the Chinchilla Hose Company of South Abington Township & PAK Pediatrics for their Easter Egg Hunt For Literacy at South Abington Recreation Park.

There will be free books, prizes, giveaways, and a visit from the Easter Bunny. The Easter Bunny will arrive via Fire Truck to kick off the festivities. This is a family-friendly event that is open to the public. This event is meant for children aged 0-12 years old and no registration is required.

West Scranton Spring Eggstravaganza

The West Scranton Eggstravaganza is a celebration of the coming of Spring! We are so excited to bring community resources, kid's activities, music, and more for West Scranton's youth! There will be music, community resources, games, and more from 12pm-2pm. The egg hunt kicks off promptly at 12:00 noon. Kids of all ages are welcome.

Home damaged after Madison Township fire

MADISON TOWNSHIP, LACKAWANNA COUNTY — A single-family home was damaged in Lackawanna County after a fire Tuesday morning.

Madisonville Fire Company crews were dispatched to the 4300 block of Quicktown Road in Madison Township around 11:00 a.m.

The fire chief says they found heavy smoke coming from a woodstove area in the basement.

Crews quickly knocked down the flames.

One person was home at the time and made it out safely.

No one was hurt, and the family can return home.
